Donations – we say «Ekutche»!
«Ekutche» means «thank you» in Yoruba – and we warmly thank you for every donation! Even small contributions can make a real difference. Every donation goes entirely and directly towards the work of the foundation in Benin. All members of the foundation board work on a voluntary basis.
Your donation helps the Foundation Tobé Benin ensure that in the small town of Koko many «ordinary» people achieve great things through many small actions. There is still much to be done in the future. Alongside maintaining the existing infrastructure and expanding beekeeping, promoting small ecological enterprises, extending forest conservation and preserving Beninese culture, a youth centre supported by the foundation was established in the village of Koko in 2018. To further develop it into a multicultural centre – also offering eco-tourism, mushroom cultivation and fish farming, and thereby creating new jobs – the foundation relies on the support of generous donors.
In the near future, the foundation aims to invest in the following projects:
- Expansion of the Akpon-Makoro youth centre in Koko (reference: «Youth centre»)
- Organisation of events marking the 30th anniversary of the Ayeke school, taking place throughout the school year and intended for pupils, teachers and the parents’ council (reference: «Ayeke anniversary»)
- Funding of optional classes at the Ayeke primary school (reference: «Ayeke optional classes»)
- Support for former pupils who wish to engage in forest conservation, the preservation of plant diversity and the promotion of local culture – facilitating their access to local colleges and universities (reference: «Higher education»)
- Construction of garden courtyards for healers and grandmothers where endangered medicinal plants can be cultivated to produce first-aid remedies for minor injuries and ailments (reference: «Medicinal plant garden»)
- Creation of additional reading books with local stories and legends (reference: «Reading books»)
